Growth: How do you plan to meet the challenges of development and demographic change?
"Local business first. Tax revenue from retail sales, not only lowers the burden on residents, but also promotes growth and amenities for all of us. More clear guidelines, workflows, and requirements will hold not only builders and businesses accountable, but city staff as well. Currently, there is not nearly enough clarity and transparency for anything other than chaotic growth. That must change. "
Qualifications: What training, experience, and characteristics qualify him for this position?
"I come from a family of entrepreneurs, run two businesses (consulting and construction) , and of course I'm the only candidate that spent the last year at every City Council meeting, having contributed majorly to the recent reform in Lago Vista’s managing staff and practices."
Water and Energy: What specific steps would you take to guarantee access to clean water and reliable energy?
"I have a background in sustainable energy and practical application. There are so many ways to improve the systems that we have without reinventing the wheel or falling prone to greenwashing or unnecessary spending. Practicality isnt political, and anyone making it otherwise is scamming you."
Mandates: How do you balance local control with state and federal mandates?
"State laws are clear, and most of us live in Texas because it is Texas. The people should govern the government, not the other way around. Some people like to call me something close to a libertarian, but realistically, I just don’t think unnecessary power should be given to a group that does not have proven qualifications, regardless of if that group is private or public. "
Other Issue: What other critical issue do you think is important to your community, and how do you plan to address it?
"Workflows, and accountability. It’s easy for any of us to say, but I am the one candidate that has been at every meeting for the last year. We can’t expect city staff to do the right thing if they don’t even know what the right thing is. We must have qualified leaders and management, for residence and staff, and no more sweetheart deals, rubberstamps, or differential treatment."
